Wild Geese Go Nationwide!
Behind the scenes at the Studio on Rté's popular television programme
There was much excitement at the Studio on Friday as the production crew of Rté's Nationwide arrived to film how our pieces are made, meet the makers & hear about the company's origins & future plans.
The completed film will be broadcast on Rté 1 this Friday (4th May) at 7pm & will be also be available via the internet at www.rte.ie on the Rté Player.
The crew interviewed the Studio's co-founder & designer Kathleen Smyth about how she creates a piece & her memories of the early days of the Studio's 42-year history. They then followed a Celtic Love Cross on its journey from creation to arrival on the shelf of a shop, taking a look at casting, polishing, framing, labelling & packing.
Finally managing director Jamie McCarthy-Fisher discussed the Studio's recent past & the imminent launch of the Lifestyle range of textiles, ceramics & stationery, which is due in the shops next week.
